Szabina Farago
I was born in Hungary and have been living in the United Kingdom for over 14 years. My passion for crafting, drawing, and design has been with me since childhood, and I’ve worked in the fashion industry for more than 25 years. As a child, I dreamt of becoming a fashion illustrator and designer.
I had the opportunity to study Fashion at university in London, but after two years, I decided to change direction. I realised I needed a new challenge and wanted to explore different creative fields—this led me to Illustration.
I am currently completing my university studies and will graduate in July 2026, continuing to build my creative practice within fashion illustration, surface pattern design, and personalised garment creation.
Over the past three years, I’ve completed a variety of exciting creative projects and developed a growing passion for fashion illustration, technical drawing, and bespoke design. Alongside creating fashion technical drawings and tech packs for garment design and production, I have also discovered a strong personal style influenced by equestrian culture, fashion events, and expressive illustration.
My work now focuses on fashion and horse event illustration, horse-inspired surface pattern design, and personalised artwork featuring horses and pets. By combining illustration, painting, and dressmaking, I create unique garments and custom pieces that transform personal stories and animal portraits into wearable art.
I especially enjoy working with coloured pencils and mixed media to create realistic pet and horse portraits, bringing personality, elegance, and emotional connection into every piece I design.
Nature and animals are a big part of my life. At home, we have dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and many more animals that constantly inspire me. You’ll see this connection reflected throughout my portfolio projects.
In addition to my creative work, I run a small alterations and dressmaking business as a self-employed seamstress. I’ve built a solid local network over the years and I’m excited about the opportunities to combine this experience with my illustration career.
Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I hope you enjoy exploring my work, and please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or enquiries—I’d be more than happy to help!
